Post Falls, Idaho

Post Falls Street Map

The western gateway to North Idaho is an easy exit off I-90. Post Falls is known as Idaho's River City. Forested hills to the south, winding Spokane River in the heart of town and prairie stretching north to the mountains provide a beautiful setting for this progressive town. Emerging recreational opportunities set Post Falls in a class of its own. Q'emiln Riverside Park, south of the bridge along the river, has picnic areas, a public boat launch and beach with life guards on duty in summer months. The Lions Grand Pavilion at the park is the site of the Summer Concert Series and the annual Fiddle Fest, a qualifying competition for the Weiser World Finals and a special 4th of July concert by the Herborn, Germany band, in honor of town founder and Herborn native, Frederick Post. Behind the park is some of the region's best rock climbing, long scenic hiking trails and popular white water kayak training locations.

Within the city limits of Post Falls, see Native American petroglyphs and pictographs at Treaty Rock or visit Falls Park, site of the Post Falls Dam which controls the water levels of Lake Coeur d'Alene. The city is 25 minutes from downtown Spokane, 35 minutes from Spokane International Airport and 10 minutes from downtown Coeur d'Alene. This central location has made Post Falls a plus for corporate relocation. Buck Knives, the premium manufacturer of hunting and fishing knives, now calls Post Falls home. They were joined by a Cabela's outdoor mega store in 2007. The opening of the new 30,000 square foot city hall campus in June is to be followed by groundbreaking for the Boys and Girls Club of Kootenai County facility in late summer 2008.
